Imperial Castle

Built on a rocky sandstone elevation above the city, the Imperial Castle is the symbol of Nuremberg. The oldest records of the fortress date back to 1105, and its construction goes even further back.
Nuremberg was one of Europe’s major cities throughout the Middle Ages. This means that the travelling Roman-German emperors would often reside at Nuremberg Castle to reign over their dominions. This is where they would receive vassals or sit in judgement. The castle encompasses many different areas as well as a castle garden. The different areas can be visited separately or with an admission ticket that gives the holder access to the entire complex.
A guided tour providing in-depth information is recommended for groups. Offer your seminar participants or employees the opportunity to take a time journey back to the Middle Ages and whisk them away into a magical world of castles, knights and emperors.
